'Rubbish' jewellery
Handmade, irregular, characterful, asymmetric, bold, quirky, interesting, individual, unique.
I've always loved hand-made chain, and individual, characterful jewellery, but I've never been hot on 'bling' - everything I saw out there was a bit too dainty, perfect and shiny.
What to do?????
Then in 2019 I went on a course with the amazing Sarah Drew from Cornwall. She makes fabulous brave jewellery using beach finds and natural materials. What an inspiration!!!!!
I've never looked back.
Copper washers, pipe olives, old nails, lab equipment, bits of clock, car, old machines, stripped out electrical cable - even the silver I use is recycled. No shed is safe from a rummage....
And what a perfect use for my enormous stash of semi-precious and vintage beads!
I love the incongruity of placing scrap metal alongside fabulously colourful stones - taking the worthless, re-imagining it, and heating, beating, threading new value into it.

If all this resonates with you, then please take a look at what I have to offer. The brass, copper, iron and silver elements will dull down after time - maybe that's the way you like things to be - it's certainly my preferred finish - but if you like your chain shiny, a quick buff up with a silver cloth (or very fine wire wool) will soon bring it back to life.
